Lately, I've been craving all things smoothie and berries, so I had to have them together! It’s the perfect mid-day snack or morning pick-me-up that’s light with a boost of plant-based nutrients.
Why You’ll Love This
- Only 5 ingredients! Four, if you don’t count the water. That means this is an easy smoothie recipe that’s straight-to-the-point.
- This recipe is 100% dairy-free. And to keep things simple and cheap - we’re going with water instead of vegan milk. Although, you can choose to use plant-based milk to replace the water.
- Creamy without the cream or banana, all thanks to ripe avocado!

Ingredients & Substitutions
Baby Spinach - Mature spinach works, too. They are essentially the same. Go for whichever you prefer or can find.
Water - We used water to keep things simple. But, feel free to use plant-based milk for a creamier smoothie. For more protein, soy milk is a great option.
Mixed Berries - Frozen berries are great in a smoothie because it keeps the smoothie cold without the need for ice. Fresh berries may be used - you might just have to add some ice to your smoothie.
Avocado - To keep this smoothie creamy and banana-free, we went with ripe avocado instead. If you prefer bananas, they are fine to use, too!
Maple Syrup - Or honey may be used. Feel free to opt-out of any kind of sweetener.
